A screenshot allows catching an image currently being displayed on a computer, tablet or smartphone. Thanks to this service we are able to keep graphic proofs of Messenger messages, the current website state or an event inside an application. We are going to show how to take a screenshot on Android and iOS devices down below.
The way of taking screenshots on Android phones is connected to the way they are designed.
If there are physical buttons below the screen a button Home located on the front lower side of the device shall be pressed and held simultaneously with the screen lock button (power button). The power button is located on the side of the smartphone. Buttons shall be held for two seconds.
In case of the phone not having a physical Home button and navigation through the menus is done through a screen bar, a lower volume button shall be pressed and held alongside the power button (screen lock button). Both buttons are located on smartphone's side. Same as in the previous case, the buttons shall be held for 2 seconds.
After taking a screenshot screen shall flash and the smartphone shall make a taking picture sound
Some older Android smartphones do not have an option to make screenshots. Then third party apps might come in handy, such as Easy Screenshot or Screenshot touch available on Google Play. Thanks to them you can easily capture an image from a website onto your phone.
The way of making screenshots in some Samsung models is slightly different than in typical Android smartphones described above. For example, Samsung Galaxy J3, J5, J7, S7 and Note 4 to make a screenshot button Home and Power have to be pressed at once (not volume down and power like in the other smartphones case).
In addition to those models such as Galaxy J5, J7, S7, S8 and Note 4 have an additional feature of making screenshots using gestures. It is enough to drag a hand above the screen to make a screenshot.
Screenshots on Apple smartphones are made by Home and Sleep/Wake button. Older models have Sleep/Wake button on the upside and newer ones on the side. The home button is located on the front lower section of the smartphone.
When it comes to iPhone X that does not have a physical Home button screenshots are made in a slightly different way. To make a screenshot two buttons must be pressed simultaneously, the side power button on the right and any volume button on the left side.
Android devices save screenshots in Pictures/Screenshots folder. In order to find it on Apple devices you have to go into Pictures >> Albums >> Camera roll
